First, thank you for supporting St. John’s in every capacity. However, with an endowed scholarship gift, we can only use a percentage of the interest earned from invested money as financial aid to students. An annual fund gift is meant to be spent in the year it was given, therefore providing immediate impact to our Cadets today.

This generosity strengthens all school programs and serves as an important endorsement of our mission to provide a human and Christian education to young men and women from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.

Each year, Lasallians honor Saint John Baptist de La Salle, founder of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools and patron saint of teachers, on May 15, known as the Solemnity of Saint John Baptist de La Salle or Founder’s Day.

This is a day to reflect on the rich history of the Lasallian mission and celebrate the man whose vision of and dedication to providing a human and Christian education to the young, especially the poor, launched the worldwide Lasallian network. The celebration is also an opportunity to honor the ministries, Brothers, and lay partners and the work they do to continue the Lasallian mission.

Founder’s Day is also St. John’s Day of Giving—when St. John’s community comes together to express our gratitude to the Christian Brothers and faculty who have done so much for our students over the decades. The gifts made in conjunction with Founder’s Day are directed to tuition assistance.

Over the past six years, Founder’s Day has raised an additional $650,000 that goes directly to families in financial need.
