On May 1, St. John’s Cadet Corps held its annual Awards Ceremony.
Jason Lerner ’19 received the St. John’s Cadet Colonel Certificate and Medallion for outstanding leadership and commitment to our Cadet Corps.
Tim Swope ’19 was presented with the United States Army ROTC Scholarship Certificate.
Jack Kavanagh ’19 received the United States Air Force ROTC Scholarship Certificate.
Jack Kavanagh ’19, Michael Penafiel ’19 and Maria Shepp ’19 were presented with the St. John’s Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Certificate for outstanding leadership and commitment to our Cadet Corps.
Ryan Fitzgerald ’22 received the Sergeant Major Vincent Fisher Scholarship Certificate for excellence in education and leadership.
Maggie Gleeson ’22 was awarded the Sergeant Major Michael Hackett Scholarship Certificate for excellence in education and leadership.
Justin Fitzgerald ’20 was presented with the Command Sergeant Major John W. McConnell Scholarship Certificate for excellence in education and leadership.
Isabelle Heintz ’19, Andrew Timmer ’20, Colin Kavanagh ’21 and Christian Swope ’22 received the President’s JROTC Ribbon N-1-1, intended to recognize the most outstanding cadets in leadership, education and training in each grade level.
Erin Paik ’19, Leena Shin ’20, Jessica Kolevar ’21 and Jasper Zabala ’22 received the Principal’s JROTC Ribbon N-1-2, awarded annually to the cadets in each grade level who are exemplary examples of the St. John’s Cadet Corps.
Tommy Cohen ’20 was presented with the Military Order of the World Wars Award, given to the cadet in the junior class who displayed a strong sense of citizenship, character and a desire to serve our country.
Parker Flynn ’19 received the Military Order of the Purple Heart Award, given to the cadet who displayed a positive attitude toward the Cadet Corps program and our country and was active in school activities.
Maria Shepp ’19, Jayden Baiyewu ’20, Daniel De Lude ’21 and James Morrison ’22 were given the Daughters of the American Revolution Bronze Medal. This medal is awarded to cadets who displayed outstanding dependability, good character and leadership and adhered to the principles of military discipline. These students also received the Good Citizenship Medal, awarded to cadets who display the qualities of honor, service, courage, leadership and patriotism.
Daniel Valdez ’19 and Nick Manthei ’20 received the Sons of the American Revolution Bronze Medal, awarded to cadets that displayed outstanding dependability, good character and leadership and adhered to the principles of military discipline.
Peter Goodwin ’19 was presented with the Reserve Officer’s Association Award, intended to recognize cadets whose performance has demonstrated outstanding dedication to citizenship, knowledge of civic responsibility, military orientation, self-discipline and a sound work ethic.
Michael Penafiel ’19 received the Patrick S. Gilmore Band Award, given to the cadet who has provided outstanding support and leadership in the Regimental School Band.
Jack Kavanagh ’19, Maria Shepp ’19 and Jessica Kolevar ’21 were also recognized for their efforts on the SJC Rifle Team this year.
