Barcelona - March 24

Traveling is a lot. You’d expect that a seven-hour flight overnight would be the perfect time for rest and relaxation. However, for most students, those long hours were left wide awake. This made day one an interesting experience.
As most of us walked around like zombies, we got to experience the lively culture of Barcelona, Spain. As soon as we left the hotel for the first time, our first experience was taking the busy metro. From there, we had time to explore the shopping area on the waters of the Mediterranean Bay.

After lunch, we visited the Columbus Monument, where we got to take an elevator ride to the top, giving us an incredible view of the city. Following Mass, we were treated to a special tapas dinner, where we got to share our meal, as well as share stories and meet new people that we never had the opportunity to meet at SJC. By now, it was about 9:30 pm, and all that was left was a quick metro ride back. I can’t wait for more tomorrow.
