SJC Welcomes Athletic Trainer Kara Tribbie

Kara has worked as an athletic trainer in the secondary school setting for the past three years. Prior to being a member of the St. John’s community, she served as the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Flint Hill School in Oakton, VA. Along with providing athletic training services to grades 7-12, she served as the yearbook advisor and co-managed the athletics’ department social media accounts.
Kara received her bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise from Virginia Tech, where she earned a varsity letter in sports medicine for her work with the football program. She earned her master’s degree in Athletic Training from Boston University after having completed several clinical rotations in NCAA Division I Athletics including BU Men’s Lacrosse, Men’s Ice Hockey, Dance, and Swim & Dive. She also served as an intern with the football and volleyball programs at The University of Arizona and the Fairfax County Police Department.
Kara is excited to be stepping into the classroom to help students find the connection between nutrition and overall health. She is passionate about helping student-athletes be as successful in the classroom as they are on the field and believes that the values of service and leadership modeled by faculty will help young men and women develop the skills for future success and achievement through life’s challenges.
