Gatorade DC Player of the Year: Lauren Antonucci ’19

On Jan. 15, Gatorade announced Lauren Antonucci ’19 as the DC Volleyball Player of the Year for 2018-19.

The award recognizes outstanding athletic excellence, high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character both on and off the field. Antonucci, a 5-foot-9 setter, led the Cadets to a 24-8 record and their sixth consecutive DCSAA championship this fall. She collected 850 assists, 195 digs, 78 kills, 78 service aces and 32 blocks. She earned first team All-Met and All-WCAC honors and concluded her high school career with 1,283 assists, 969 digs and 361 digs.
She has also maintained a weighted 4.60 GPA in the classroom and volunteered locally as part of multiple community service initiatives through her church.
Antonucci is the seventh Cadet to be honored as the Gatorade DC Volleyball Player of the Year. Other recent SJC honorees include Rebecca Frye ’18 (2017-18 and 2016-17), Jeanne Westney ’16 (2015-16) and Becca Bateman ’14 (2013-14).
