Welcome to your first year of high school!
The primary goal of the Counseling Center during freshman year is to help with the transition and adjustment to St. John’s, both academically and socially. We encourage all 9th-graders to ask questions, get involved, and seek out assistance in everything they do.
Throughout the school year, I work with the freshman class in many areas, including academics, personal/social life, and college/career planning. Students are invited to the Counseling Center so I can get to know them and introduce the role of the school counselor. Some of the services we offer include helping students:
- Achieve academic success
- Develop organizational skills
- Build self-confidence
- Improve time management
- Learn decision making strategies
- Resolve conflicts peacefully
The St. John’s Counseling Center takes great pride in helping all students in their development to become true SJC Cadets. Check back for some general reminders, resources for getting organized and apps that can make studying easier.
