All The World's A Stage
With at least two main stage productions per year, there are ample opportunities for students to play their part, whether on stage or behind the scenes. Most of the actors and stage hands come to St. John's with no prior theatre experience—the program is designed to be both educational and enjoyable for each and every student.
In addition, the privilege of attending a school in Washington, DC, allows students the opportunity to see high school and professional theatre productions through field trips and other events, which provide additional creative and educational exposure.
If you would like to join St. John's Theatre, but don't know where to begin, please email Christie Graham.
The International Thespian Society
St. John’s has been a member of the International Thespian Society for more than 20 years. The International Thespian Society offers students exposure to the larger world of theatre and as members, they benefit from publications edited specifically for student theatre enthusiasts, participation in events including state conferences and the International Thespian Festival, recognition as part of an honorary organization, and the widened perspective of sharing an interest with millions of peers. Thespian students also have an array of scholarship opportunities available to them at both state and international thespian events.
