1. Complete the online application on or before Dec. 4, 2026.
2. Select St. John's as one of your choices on the Archdiocese of Washington Authorization Release Record form. This will allow your grade school to send teacher recommendations and 7th- and 8th-grade transcripts.
3. Take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) at your grade school.

Complete the online application on or before Dec. 4, 2026.

Arrange to have the following sent to the Admissions Office on or before Jan. 8, 2027:

1. Academic transcripts for 7th and 8th grades
2. Recommendations from two current teachers of academic subjects. Once you submit your application, you can enter your teacher’s name and email address on your Application Checklist to request a recommendation electronically.
3. Register for the Archdiocesan High School Placement Test at least two weeks prior to test date. (Registration forms are available at adw.org.) Test dates: December 2026.

The transfer application will open January 15, 2027.

• 10th grade applicants require final 8th-grade transcript and freshman-year, first-semester grades.
• 11th grade applicants require final 9th-grade transcript and sophomore-year, first semester grades.
• All applicants require recommendations from two current teachers of academic subjects. These recommendations will be requested via the St. John's application portal after submission of application.

There is no separate application for the De La Salle Scholars Program. Once you have answered “yes” to the question, “Do you plan to apply for the De La Salle Scholars Program?" on the application, the required scholars essay question will appear at the end.

Complete the online application on or before Dec. 4, 2026. 

Submit a psychoeducational evaluation that has been completed within the last three years. There are no exceptions made to the requirements to submit a recent evaluation. This evaluation must include:

• The WISC-V (measure of overall cognitive ability)
• The Woodcock-Johnson IV Tests of Achievement (measure of academic skills)
• The IVA, BRIEF, or WRAML-2 (measure of processing speed, fluency, and executive functioning)

Provide the remaining information required of all students, including standardized testing, grades, and teacher recommendations.

In order to apply for 9th grade, you must submit an essay as part of the application. During the online application process, you will be asked to respond to the following prompt: Describe yourself to the Admissions Committee and indicate why you wish to attend St. John’s College High School.

Decisions will be mailed late February 2027. Parents may log in to the Admissions portal to view decisions.
