Tuition Assistance

FOR INCOMING FRESHMEN
To apply for tuition assistance, please complete St. John's online form through FACTs with the required supporting documentation. This application is due February 6, 2023. The St. John's Finance Committee will review all documentation and families will be notified in their acceptance packet. For more information, please contact Ashlyn Neuberger at 202-363-2316 ext. 1087.

FOR RETURNING SJC FAMILIES WITH CURRENT OR RETURNING STUDENT(S)
If applying for need-based tuition assistance, returning families are required to submit an application and supporting documentation to FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment.

FOR FAMILIES WITH CURRENT SJC STUDENTS & INCOMING NEW STUDENTS
Returning SJC families with current returning SJC student(s) who will be adding a sibling may apply for the need-based tuition assistance program. The submission of an application along with the requested supporting documentation must be uploaded to FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment.   • PLEASE NOTE: Scholarships are only awarded to incoming freshmen. If an audition is required, it may be scheduled after the application deadline.

  • Presidential Scholarships

    $5,000–6,000 / year for four consecutive years
    Presidential Scholarships are awarded to the highest-caliber students who demonstrate scholastic aptitude, score in the top percentile on the HSPT, display outstanding academic performance, and show a commitment to extracurricular involvement. Recipients are enrolled in the De La Salle Scholars Program for four years.
  • Principal Scholarships

    $4,000 / year for four consecutive years
    Principal Scholarships are awarded to the highest-caliber students who demonstrate scholastic aptitude, outstanding academic performance, a commitment to extracurricular involvement and score in the top percentiles on the HSPT. Recipients are enrolled in the De La Salle Scholars Program for four years.
  • Music Scholarships: $2,000–$6,000

    $500–$1,500 / year for four consecutive years
    Music scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate notable achievement in instrumental (woodwind, brass, percussion and string) and vocal music. Scholarships from $500 to $1,500 are awarded each year, depending on a student’s audition. Auditions are held in January. Use the links on the right side of this page to schedule your audition and download the required solo piece. 
  • Fine Arts Scholarships: $2,000–$6,000

    $500–$1,500 / year for four consecutive years
    Fine arts scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate notable achievement in art. Scholarships from $500 to $1,500 are awarded each year, depending on a student’s portfolio. Students are required to upload portfolios to their Admissions checklist by December, including photos of recent artwork that best reflects their talent. Artwork can be any medium.
  • Theatre Scholarships: $2,000–$6,000

    $500–$1,500 / year for four consecutive years
    Theatre scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate notable achievement in the theatrical arts. Scholarships from $500 to $1,500 are awarded each year, depending on a student’s audition. Archdiocesan Tuition Assistance

The Archdiocese of Washington Student Aid Form is administered by the Archdiocese through TADS and is available at www.adw.org. Please read the instructions carefully and mail your completed Archdiocesan Application by the indicated deadline. This application is independent of the St. John's tuition assistance process.
