A Celebration 100 Years in the Making

On Nov. 6, 2015, St. John’s commemorated 100 years of the Cadet Corps program at The Cadet Corps Centennial: A Celebration of Leadership.

This historic event included more than 1,000 alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff and friends of St. John’s and was the largest gathering of the St. John’s community in school history. It was held at the JW Marriott in Washington, DC. Click here to read more about this event.

Proceeds from this fundraising event were used to support current scholarships dedicated to students in the Cadet Corps, to support the overall capital campaign and to establish a Hall of Honor recognizing St. John's alumni who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country and depicting the history of the Corps of Cadets.

2015 President's Medal Honorees

At the centennial celebration, St. John's recognized the accomplishments of four outstanding graduates with the President's Medal, the school's highest honor. It is awarded to distinguished alumni and friends of the school who have given extraordinary service to the school or to the world community.

St. John's was proud to honor Msgr. John Enzler '65, Gen. Stanley McChrystal '72 (Ret.), Mr. John Veihmeyer '73 and VADM Manson Brown '74 (Ret.) at the centennial. There was truly no better occasion to honor the leadership, service and dedication of these Cadets than the celebration of the founding of St. John's Cadet Corps 100 years ago.

St. John's Announces Master Plan

At the centennial, Kevin Plank '90, founder and CEO of Under Armour, announced a pledge of $16 million to St. John’s from his private foundation, The Cupid Foundation, Inc. This is the leadership gift in a capital campaign to support athletics, academics and entrepreneurship initiatives. It is the largest in the school's history and one of the most generous grants ever made to a Catholic high school. Read more
